INITIAL DESIGN PRESENTATION

W H A T   Y O U   C A N   E X P E C T . . .

Preparing for your Initial Design Presentation helps create a clear, efficient, and collaborative design process for everyone involved. Spending a little time thinking through your goals ahead of the meeting sets a strong foundation for thoughtful conversations and confident decisions moving forward.. Here are just a few things to consider:

What to Expect at Your Initial Design Presentation:

The Initial Design Presentation is your first look at where your home’s design is headed. It’s meant to give you a clear sense of the direction we’re thinking, while leaving plenty of room for conversation, feedback, and flexibility.

During this presentation, our team will walk you through ideas for each space in your home—like the kitchen, bathrooms, entry, dining room, and more. For each area, we’ll show a curated selection of products and finishes that we feel work best together based on your design brief, lifestyle, and goals.

You’ll also see alternative options for key pieces along the way. For example, instead of just one dining table, we may show a few different options so you can see what else could work. The same would go for the dining chairs, the area rug, the lighting, the wallpaper, etc. This helps you understand that there’s more than one right answer—and that you’re not locked into the first thing we present.

Why We Do It This Way

Design works best when it feels collaborative, not prescriptive. Showing a primary direction along with alternatives helps you:

  • See the bigger picture without feeling overwhelmed

  • Understand our design thinking

  • Feel confident that you have options and flexibility

This meeting is really about alignment. It’s a chance for us to make sure we’re on the same page before moving forward.

How to Prepare

You don’t need to do much to get ready for this meeting. Beforehand, it can be helpful to revisit your original goals and think about what you’re most excited about, what you feel unsure of, or anything you’ve been wanting to explore further. Bring your questions, reactions, and honest thoughts—there’s no pressure to have everything figured out. This meeting is simply a starting point, and your input helps guide where we take the design next.

What Happens During the Meeting

During the presentation, we’ll walk you through each space and explain the ideas behind the design choices we’ve made. We’ll review the selected products, show alternative options, and talk through how everything works together. Along the way, we’ll ask for your feedback and encourage open conversation—what you love, what you’re unsure about, and what you’d like to see explored further. Nothing is final at this stage, and the goal is simply to make sure we’re aligned before moving forward..

After the Meeting

Once the presentation is done, our team will take everything we discussed and refine the design. That might mean:

  • Making adjustments to selections

  • Bringing in new options where something didn’t quite click

  • Moving straight into final design if everything feels right

From there, we’ll prepare for final design, contracts, and procurement—at a pace that makes sense for you.

This presentation is about exploring ideas and getting clarity. And you’re not expected to love everything we show--we’re happy to make as many adjustments as needed.
We can't wait to show you what we've come up with!
